Information Technology
I am currently seeking a Level 1 or 2 position in the IT or IT-related industry in the Adelaide area, with a view to utilising and improving my experience and skills, and am hoping one day to enter Network Management.
In addition to the years of experience with computers and networking through my previously full time photographic business, I have been responsible for IT systems in the last two roles of employment (2004 to 2009) and:
- Administer a home/ studio network of 5 clients. Have built my own PCs, serviced and upgraded laptops, and assisted friends and relations with their IT problems.
- Have installed operating systems, peripherals and software, and remotely assisted others where necessary (Remote Desktop.)
- Recently completed a full time 6 month IT course at Excom Education with hands on building/ upgrading and disc imaging experience.
- Attained Higher Mastery level in Service Desk Analyst exams in 2009.
- During my studies I specialised in administering Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003, as well as supporting Windows XP in the domain environment.
- Am fluent in the use and support of Windows 7 and Windows Vista; have also worked in digital imaging on Mac OS 9 and OSX v. 10.2.4.
- I've used Adobe products since 1997, and am highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop CS4 & associated programmes.
- Am planning to complete my Microsoft Engineering certifications this year (2010) so to qualify as MCSE; I am also keen to commence studies for CCNA through Cisco.

Photography
I've been taking photos since a youngster in the Seventies, so have acquired an extensive catalogue over the decades. As you'll note from the images, I have a preference for close ups and macros, seascapes and abstracts (including many of rust & paint.) To convey mood in the Seascapes, I generally use a very slow shutter speed in the hour or so after sunset - this affords not only a beautiful soft light, but it enables me to capture the water as blurred and thus permits a heightened sense of motion.
Generally my images are "untouched" but occasionally I try my hand at a photo-based digital manipulation. I use a Canon SLR with an extensive array of lenses and filters, as well as a smaller Canon and Nikon when I am unable to carry the heavier gear. Most of my processing is done in Adobe Photoshop CS4. The majority of my photos are now digital, however, some of the earlier shots were taken with 35mm cameras and converted to digital by my laboratory using a top of the range Nikon scanner.
As a hobby, I sell unmounted prints from small to large and not just on photographic paper, utilising Fine Art paper and Canvas too. I deal with a number of Fine Art and Stock agencies which represent me in the advertising and design industry. I am always happy to speak with creative directors wishing to acquire rights to my work (I can send you a low resolution presentation), or individuals who might be interested in purchasing prints. For print purchases, or for advertising enquiries - please see this page.
Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you'll be in touch.
